What’s a cloche?? It’s the top part of a cake cover. Well that’s how I describe it!
I think a cloche is a bell shaped object that was used in gardens to cover plants protecting them from weather and animals.
Now days we use a cloche to cover food, display decorate items, and that all important cake!
I just love ribbed glass.
Have you ever tore into a lamp??
Bolts, washers, threaded pipes, round disks and metal decorate pieces of all sizes…
and I’ve save everyone of them since that first lamp!
To put this one together I used a large disk on the inside threading through the pipe with a washer and bolt on the end. Next I place the large decorative metal piece and threaded the top finial to tighten it all down.
So, basically a lamp, and this thrift shop cloche, is put together on a threaded pipe tighten down with bolts, or bolt and decorative final at each end.
Each one would be put together a bit differently due to the lamp parts available. But if you need a 4 inch threaded pipe or more washers any hardware store would have it and cheap.
Hey, where’s the cake??
