Have you ever had an incredible idea?  Something that was amazing!

Why didn’t everyone else think about this?  It’s so great in that it’s’ so simple.

I had one of those moments October 2014 and I shared it on a post about decorating for fall.  The stupendous idea has nothing to do with fall decor.  The photos, post or pins I made for Pinterest did not go viral.

But I still think it’s a mind-boggling idea.  So today I’m sharing my mason jar drink idea

mason jar drink idea…

along with a drink recipe.

First the recipe….

“Lime in the Coconut Mojitos”
Makes a double drink

1 lime
1 sprig of fresh mint
2 oz simple syrup {you can buy simple syrup or make it.  I make mine by adding 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water to small saucepan.  Heat till sugar is dissolved. Let cool.  Pour into a jar and store in the fridge}
4 oz Malibu coconut rum
Ice cubes
Club soda 9 to 12 oz size

Squeeze lime juice into a cocktail shaker.  Add the sprig of mint and “muddle” using a wooden spoon.  Muddling is simply smushing the mint leaves along the sides and bottom of the shaker to release mint goodness!  Next, add the simple syrup, rum and ice.  Shake.  Pour into a regular mouth quart size mason jar.  Note * the size of the jar is important*  Top with club soda.

To serve, top the quart mason jar with a wide mouth pint size jar.

Here’s a video from Periscope sharing the recipe and idea.

Guests can drink from the pint size jar and keep the extra in the quart jar.

These are also great for farmhouse style water carafes at bedtime.
