We are home from our big adventure.

Yep, I’m sharing photos.  Not all the photos…whew!  Yes, I can hear your sigh.

This is not a “come over” and see our 347 slides of our vacation.

Just a few pictures to inspire your DIY creativity and share how I get inspired.

I promise.

Blast from our Past

Downtown LA

Our new grandson came into the world earlier than expected.  We packed in 2 hours and was on a road trip adventure. 🙂

Downtown LA here we come.  The little hotel we found was full of creativity I had to share.

The Farmer’s Daughter is a “boutique” hotel near downtown LA.  We had the opportunity to stay two nights in its funky farmhouse style.  Their sign would is great inspiration for a farmhouse sign or printable!!!  Hum!  Check the bottom of this post. 😀

This piece of art on the wall is the mini bar.  Jars with treats and chalkboard labels list the ingredients. Just like we do in our pantries!  Vintage silver for the coffee service.

The seating area with burlap pillows and mattress styled pads.  I adore this table.  It would be easy to make one….Hum!!!

Pismo Beach

I often write, “we spent 5 glorious years on the Central Coast of California.”  Those years were in Pismo Beach.  The best place on earth.  I could move back in a heartbeat.

This was the view from our room of the Pismo pier.

Early morning, fresh air and sounds of the waves.

This is the view we had at the Splash cafe.  The best clam chowder in the world…I don’t even like clam chowder.  I ate every drop!

Restaurants shouldn’t have seats in front of mirrors!!

DIY that lasts!!

We drove past our two homes in Pismo Beach.  I left my mark.  I made this bench during our first summer in 1998.  To be honest, I not sure if the bench is still there because of my great DIY skills, or if it’s the legs.  The legs are about 5 feet long.  Mike buried the legs deep into the sandy yard.

Wonder if the present owner would mind if I repainted it. 😕

The new homeowners repainted our other home.  We wanted a soft yellow…I picked ”

It came out “limon!”  The new homeowners painted the home white…but if you looked, you could still see a bit of limon!

The best part of Pismo Beach are the people.  A few of the “Lavender” girls got together for a blast of creative inspiration and laughs.  We all are passionate about making imaginative DIY projects from next to nothing.  My dear friend made a vintage style book using spray paint and gold stamping from an old thrift book.  Plus a sweater pumpkin with burlap leaves and weighted with rice!   I found the metal leaf at a favorite store.

Taking walks on Pismo Beach was another favorite past time.

Monday’s post ~ DIY fall decorating ~ I finally decorated our living room for fall.  Soft touches added to our new industrial farmhouse living room.  So, when I redo a room it that’s awhile before I want to add seasonal or holiday stuff!  You too??
