Flower Power Pumpkin
Taking a square and making a round shape for a flower power pumpkin.
Can you fit a square peg into a round hole?
Yes! How?
Make it fit.
I when to our local dollar store for a Styrofoam ball and all they had is square. Did I head over to another store?
No, I decided I could make it into a round shape…or close to it.

Let’s do it
Here’s what I used for this easy flower power pumpkin. That square Styrofoam, some dollar store silk flowers, a stick, and my favorite white craft glue.
If you use a square Styrofoam, make it sorta round by pressing on the corners and then the edges. I suggest using a round shaped one!
Pull off the flowers and glue around the Styrofoam. Since mine was not round, I left about 2 inches of stem on the flowers in the 6 flat areas. I could then “shape” my square into a round!
Done and sorta round
I stuck in the stick on top. Then sit my flower power pumpkin on a base from those 70″s styled lamps.
I love using the bases around the house. Perfect as a pedestal for a plate of cookies {makes them feel special.} Around here a plate of cookies would be special without a pedestal.
This was an easy project and could be in any type of color of silk flowers you have around the house. It’s the “stem” that makes it a pumpkin!
My photography skills are still developing. I make the flower power pumpkin outside and took the finished photos inside. The flower I used is not as white or as yellow as the pictures. Hum!
How did I do making a square peg into a round pumpkin?
