Five tips to decorate between the seasons
Our bodies need the feeling of seasonal changes, and so do our homes. Those in-between times give way from scorching heat to cooler breezes before the leaves turn.

Can you see the dish of dusty seashells on the coffee table waiting around until you replace them with pinecones and acorns? Give your coffee table a break between the seasonal decor.

Clear the room

Let the table breathe and clear the surface. Gather up all the decorations in the room, clean, and store away for next year.
White

Use white for all your vases, decorative bowls, and glassware for decorating. Since we’re working on between seasonal decor, use white or clear. If you’re low on white, use chalk-based paint to update glassware. Or thrift store shelves are overloaded with white “decorware.”
Here’s a list of places I like to shop. And these are my favorite shops on Amazon.
Simple Plants

Use greens real or fake. I use fake since I can’t grow anything. A simple white pot with a green plant works wonders any time of the year.
Nature

Bring in nature. Gather branches from the yard or while walking the dog — place in one of those white vases.
Neutral

If you’ve done each tip so far, you’ll notice a neutral look is forming. Continue by adding creams and browns. Lean a worn cutting board on the mantel. Then place an antique cream chipped crate with a small white dish inside.
Keep the decorating between the seasons simply.
