Circle Square Box Pillow
My made a circle square box pillow!
The best part…
it was easy!
The very best part…
you have a chance to win one of two $100 gift cards to onlinefabricstore!
This post is sponsored by Online Fabric Stores. That means I did receive fabric, Waverly Full Circle in Sterling, and my pillow form from Online Fabric Store. I want to thank them for this fun opportunity!
I’ve make several pillows over the years, some sewn and some no sew. This one is easy sew!
Plus you can get more inspiration from my 19 blogging friends who also picked their favorite fabric and made pillows below.
This is the fabric I picked for my circle square box pillow.
Now you get the circle part.
When I cut the fabric I did so on the bias {turned it 45 degrees} and cut out two 18 inch square pieces.
Now you get the square part.
Then I simply sewed completely around three sides. Plus about 4 inches into the forth side from each corner.
Don’t think I’m a great seamstress. The sewing machine above will be 39 years old in December. I bought it at Montgomery Wards for $100 with great plans to make my sons clothes. I did make some clothing for both of us. He wouldn’t wear them unless he didn’t see me making his clothes. Humph! I usually make home decor items, curtains, bedspreads and pillows. I can do straight line sewing…okay!
Just so you realize how much I sew, or don’t sew…
I have never changed the light blub in the machine…
and notice it’s on!
I pressed the seams open. Usually I don’t do this step…specially when making pillows…
but this is when the box part come into the picture.
I opened the seams and using a straight pin I found the center of the stitching through each side.
Then I sewed across each corner making a triangle.
Then I cut the top of each triangle off.
When the pillow is turned this stitching makes the box part.
To finish the fourth side I used hoop and loop tape.
Then stuffed in the pillow form and ….
If you’re not into sewing the Online Fabric Store now carries ready made decorative pillows! How cool is that! 🙂
If you want to venture into sewing this is a great starter pillow. I made it in under one hour.
My light bulb is still burning… 🙂
We have two $100 OnLineFabricStore gift cards to giveaway.
