We spent 9 glorious days in Oahu celebrating Mike’s retirement. Mike actually retired 3 years ago, we’re just slow.
The photo above is the view from our hotel room.
I know! Gorgeous!!!!
We waited on the beach for a couple of hours for this room to be ready. Sweating, of course, because I’m in a sweater, pants, and heeled ankle boots! But it didn’t matter, we were in Hawaii and waiting for an amazing room with a view.
Every time we have the opportunity to stay in a nice hotel room, I eventually take a picture of the art work. I love the dramatic way art is displayed in the “better” hotel rooms. Motel “7” might have a way to go on their art displays. Our wall hangings at home are usually burlap art!
Our room was the shutter room. The closet doors were four sliding shutters. Shown on the right. The air vent was covered with a wood shutter that matched the shutters in the room. I love this idea! Might be doing something similar in our cabin.
We have sliding doors in our master and off the living room. I’m not a fan of sliding doors even though ours are wood. I would love to add sliding shutters over them that could be removed when we move. Hummm!
Now I’m not going to bore you to death with vacation pictures, especially since we took almost 1,000 pictures! But here’s a few. Our favorite beach, sunset beach on the North Shore. The waves reach over 25 feet. Incredible!
I didn’t go in with those waves! I barely swim and we talked to a surfer with his surfboard totally broken in half! Wow! Totally!
