My Design Journal

My grandma kept journals to record their daily events around the farm in Osage county in Oklahoma.  She would write who visited on Saturday afternoon and what she make for supper.  The journals were also used as basically their profit and loss statement.  Grandma would record what they made selling alfalfa or how much they made from the load of hogs.

The journal sentence that gave me goosebumps

As a child, I spent as much time as my parents would let me on the old farm.  My favorite animal was Queen the collie.  Many days she would go work with Grandpa in the fields, the best days was when Queen could spent the day with me in the playhouse.  A few years ago during a visit I had the opportunity to read Grandma’s journals.  I got goose bumps when I read “We went to the auction today and bought a puppy, I think we will name her Queen.”

This website is my version of my Grandma’s journals.  My Design Journal.

Toilet Paper Rolls Journal

A step by step on creating your own toilet paper roll journal. No worries, it’s very easy. If you wish to watch the steps, I’ve included links to Pinterest videos for creating your own.

Basic Toilet Paper Journal Steps

Collect at least 5 toilet paper rolls and a stick from outside. My stick is about the size of the cigar. (Sorry, but that’s the only thing I could think of that’s the size of my stick.)

I washed the stick and let it dry in the sun. Then cut it to the size of my toilet paper roll size, AFTER cutting along one and turning it

My Journal

Many items used in the design of this website are near and dear to my heart.  The chalkboard above is my mother’s, the coffee mug was my grandpa’s, and the hammer in my signature was my father’s.
