Looks like a Crazy Summer on our Front Porch
I detest summer. There are too many bugs and other creepy crawly things. T-shirts stick to the sweat, and flip flops are uncomfortable to me. And most important chocolate melts too fast.
This causes my summer decorating be sporadic and crazy. Living in Arizona, I want to get the decorating done before it gets too hot. Too hot for me is anything over 72 degrees. Thankfully we live in the mountains of Arizona.
Crazy Front Porch Decorating
Things start with my baby crib springs. I wrapped the metal frame in twine last year. This is how it looked when I first hung the springs next to our front door.
And this is my hot mess of leftover silk flowers crammed into a wicker basket.
Using wire cutters I trimmed the stems to around 2-inches. Then wrapped the wire around the springs here and there. Until….
I had a “falling flower” effect. Since we live in a cabin, I figured summer decor need a pop of color.
The other side of the door decor
This side started with my favorite tool box. It’s a sumptuous color of turquoise…and rust. A board was added to hold a metal sign. A sign bought at our one and only big box store in town…Walmart. Then I added metal flowers. I popped them off a metal wreath found a Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago.
Instead of wearing uncomfortable flip flops I hung them on the wall.
I love the farmhouse nesting tables I created. The middle table has chalkboard paint for games of tic-tac-toe.
The chalkboard in the middle of my window has a saying I’m not sure I agree with! I’ve never worn glass slippers, but at least they don’t have a “thing” between your toes! 😕
