I caught myself trying to stack mason jars in the laundry room…

again!

I keep leftover and mixed up paint in mason jars in the laundry room.  I need a better solution!

Not the leftover paint…but the stacking of mason jars in the laundry room cabinets.  Mason jars don’t stack well.

Some of the jars are empty, some have paint, some have bunches of paint brushes, and some have laundry soap.  I’m waiting for the day I paint something with laundry soap! :/

While stacking jars I learned something and had to turn it into…something??

Summer Project Ideas 3

Here’s what I learned.  When you stack a small pint size jar onto the top of the wide mouth quart jar that you didn’t realize the seal was missing…

the pint jar fits into the quart jar.

I did learn that a pint jar fits over the top of a regular quart jar.  You can see why that’s so very awesome here…

Isn’t THAT cool!!!!

This is a great summer project ideas project.  Perfect for the bored kiddos waiting for school to start.  Oh, it’s you waiting for school to start!!!

Here’s what you need for this easy project.

  • 1-pint mason jar
  • 1 wide mouth quart mason jar
  • Water in a small pitcher
  • Blue and green food coloring
  • A battery tea light
  • Seashells
  • Twine

Add one drop of blue and green food coloring to the water.  Mix. Add the “ocean” water to the quart jar to about 1/3 full.

Turn on the tea light and add to the small jar.  Add seashells.

Add the rings to the jars {not necessary, but I liked the look.

Tie twine around the ring of the larger jar.

Plop the smaller jar into the larger jar.  Actually do this slowly or you’ll have ocean water all over your counters.

You can just add real candles too.  Would be awesome with several running down the center of the table.  Hum!
