Easy Autumn Pumpkin

I had this little ceramic pumpkin for years. It was orange with a little green stem and a hole in the bottom to place a candle. The photo is the only way to show the “lovely” orange because…

last year I painted it a soft creamy white and the green stem black. This hid the fact the top had a burnt place from a candle! {eek, guess it wasn’t designed for a real candle??}

That Face

But last year the childish face still looked at me from across the room!

This is the cast of characters I’m using to update the little pumpkin. Mod Podge, an old book and a paintbrush.

You got it…I tore strips and started gluing. Notice I even covered the pumpkin’s face. It seemed too childish and even a bit creepy, so I covered it!  I covered everything except the black stem.

And here’s the little pumpkin dressed in a burlap and black and white checked ribbon with itty~bitty cream color beads.

It’s sitting on the scrap wood mantel!

I’ll put it in the fall box and probably do something else with it next year.  As long as, I don’t have to look at that face!  😱😨😧😲

Bonus Pumpkin

This little bonus pumpkin with a huge stem was created during one of our live projects on Facebook. You can watch the twine ball project and extra bonus crafting tips here.
